Welna is a T’boli Tribe of South Cotabato, Philippines. She is the Chairperson of the Lem Bulul Farmers Association, which is practicing organic and sustainable farming in Lake Sebu. Formed in 2020 and composed of mostly indigenous farmers, they envision a secured ancestral domain for their community with safe and sufficient food, and continuous development for their culture while protecting the environment. Lem Bulul Farmers Association is a partner of the national organization MASIPAG, which is the forerunner of organic and sustainable agriculture advocacy in the Philippines. Welna is a farmer-trainer of MASIPAG specializing in upland traditional farming and seed preservation.
