Surti is an Indigenous lawyer, and currently active as the Emergency Response and International Advocacy in Indigenous Peoples , who are members of the Association of Defenders of the Archipelago Indigenous Peoples or PPMAN, and Indigenous Peoples Human Rights Defender Asia Network (IPHRD). She served as a member of the National Steering Committee of the Dedicated Grant Mechanism-Indonesia from 2014-2022. In October 2020, she received the award “The Voice of Global Indigenous Women of the Year 2020”, given by the Jharkand indigenous Peoples Organizations in India.
