Jainno, or Jax, is a climate and social justice activist from the Philippines whose work lies at the intersection of climate, development, and human rights. He is the Climate Justice Policy Officer at IBON International, a Global South institution that seeks to develop peoples’ capacity to engage with global policy processes. Jax conducts research and analysis on climate and development policy trends and participates in global policy making arenas such as the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and international financial institutions. His recent work focuses on exposing false climate solutions, while amplifying real, community-led alternatives, and documenting stories of resistance against corporate encroachment on land, livelihoods, and resources.
