Annas is Deputy to the Secretary General on Economic Affairs of Aliansi Masyarakat Adat Nusantara (AMAN). After graduating from IPB University in 2008, he worked in AMAN in the community services and emergency response division. In 2015, he was appointed as AMAN’s Director of Community Support with the main focus on facilitating participatory mapping of indigenous territories, community planning, Indigenous economic development and renewable energy programmes. His various roles in AMAN include: as Deputy Verification at the Ancestral Domain Registration Agency (BRWA) in 2010 – 2016; and Head of AMANKanCovid19 – an emergency response team to address the impacts of the pandemic. At present his mandated focus is on developing the Indigenous economy through the establishment of BUMMA (Indigenous Peoples-owned enterprises).
